Lake Tahoe Rental Places

Lake Tahoe AttractionsLake Tahoe covers two states so you may find it a bit daunting to pick only a few items from the gigantic list of attractions. The stunning lake and mountains themselves are really enough to keep you busy (and mesmerized) but there are a few other things you might want to check out. In South Lake Tahoe, you can visit the Lake Tahoe Historic Society Museum. Learn about the Washoe Indians through artifacts such as Indian baskets and arrowheads. Hopi, Navajo, Apache Seminole and Zuni lifestyles are all represented here as well. The Tallac historic site is comprised of three large estate homes - Baldwin, Pope and Valhalla, which can be rented out for special occasions. All three offer tours, with a cultural arts store available in the Valhalla estate. In Tahoe City you can visit the Watson Cabin Living Museum, a charming turn-of-the-century honeymoon cottage. This national landmark still retains many of its original furnishings and has been preserved to look as it did 100 years ago. Also in Tahoe City you will find the Gatekeeper's Cabin Museum, a hand-carved log cabin that exhibits artifacts telling the history of Lake Tahoe. Lake Tahoe Events, Entertainment & Things For KidsEarly ski gear, along with local rocks and fossils, logging equipment and much more can be found here. Bring a picnic lunch and spend the afternoon. For a little culture, make some time for the Art Attack Gallery in Incline Village. This landmark gallery is spacious and inviting, and offers visitors works by renowned artists such as Doolittle, Lyman Guay and Delacroix. Also in Incline Village you will find Artists of Tahoe and Art's Desire-Fine Art & Fine Framing. Here you will find several local innovative artist's works, as well as Native American and Lake Tahoe vintage photographs. If you need a little more excitement (between the slopes, lake activities, museums and art galleries) Make a stop at the ATM and head to one of Lake Tahoe's famous casinos. Half the lake rests inside Nevada state lines, and they make the most of it with some great gambling venues. Choose from Lakeside Inn & Casino, Harrah's Resort and Casino or Harvey's Resort and Casino among many others in South Lake Tahoe. In North Lake Tahoe, there is the Biltmore Tahoe Lodge and Casino, the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort, Spa and Casino (make sure to try the spa services too) or the Cal-Neva Resort in Crystal Bay. There are plenty more, but you might want to save up a little time for some skiing or golfing too. |
